Over 53% of those who misused prescription pain medications say they got them from a friend or family, often getting them easily within the home.

For medications you still need:

Securely store medications out of sight where only you can reach them. Locking them up is best. Also, keep track of what medications you have and how many so you know if any are missing.

For unused or unneeded medications:

Flushing medicines increases pollution of our water.

Help keep friends, family, and our environment safe by disposing medication at one of the following free medication disposal kiosks.

To Use the Kiosk:

  • Place medications in ziplock bag.
  • Liquids, powders, and ointments are o.k. if tightly capped in container with identifying information removed and then placed in a ziplock bag.
  • Do not place sharps or illegal drugs in the kiosk
